SoftwareManagers.org was created to address the need for a nonprofit, nonpartisan, supplementary resource for information about Software Asset Management (SAM).
Software Asset Management (SAM) is a subset of the growing IT Asset Management (ITAM) field that may include many related disciplines. To combat complexity, a simple step-by-step approach is encouraged to help make SAM easily understandable to anyone. The inherent business, legal and technical dependencies within a company need to be balanced to implement a successful program.
Rita Bowman is the Chairperson and President of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Software Managers Resource, Inc. which supports this website and related activities. With over eleven years of hands-on experience, speaking credits, writing credits and certifications in IT Asset Management (CITAM), SPA/SIIA Software Management (CSM) and GASP Auditor, Rita leads the organization. Eglute Martisiute and Tom Wills are managing directors of SMRI. Grant Bowman is the technical administrator.
Discussions with others are ongoing about how this new entity can best fit existing needs and evolve. Members are encouraged to provide comments to the members@softwaremanagers.org email discussion list.
